Geneva Instruments Founder Timothy Oldroyd
The brass-band movement and the British mining
It was in the 1830s that the brass-band movement developed in the British mining area. Originally its purpose was to prevent lung damages but it quickly became a great tool in order to strengthen the community of the miners.
A tradition of passion and love for the music emerged and GENEVA added with its instruments a very special quality and personality to this tradition – with life-long guarantee.
GENEVA and the brass-band movement
More and more musicians are fascinated by the brass-band movement – not only in England but also in the rest of Europe and all over the world. It is the aim of GENEVA Instruments lead by Tim Oldroyd to support beyond the borders of Great-Britain this special lifestyle of cordiality and solidarity.
GENEVA is present at all major events by establishing a professional distribution network and by ensuring an extreme high quality and individuality of the instruments. The hand-made brass instruments made by GENEVA set high standards. New developments in the production process lead to instruments with a full sound, more flexibility and expression.
The craftsmen at GENEVA build instruments made for the special requirements and needs of the musicians. Some of the worldwide renowned brass ensembles play GENEVA wind instruments and they can also be heard in many movie and TV-productions.
