“A superb trumpet and one which I am proud to be involved in the development of, it is truly representative of Great British design and engineering. My new trumpet has already been used on the soundtracks of two blockbuster films- the latest being Harry Potter movie and Thor.
It is so easy to play in all registers, has lots of musical colours, and you have so many options as to how it looks and sounds. I’m thrilled with it, and after 22 years helping Yamaha, I have told Tim Oldroyd at GENEVA that I think I know how to compete with the big trumpet makers. My students at the Royal Academy of Music [London] also describe these instruments as simply superb, and are a 'dead cert' to fly off the shelves because of looks, sound and competitive pricing.
My colleagues in the LSO, on many sections, have commented on its sound as well as the great conductors Gergiev and Haitink- that’s good enough for me. Watch out Yamaha and Bach... there's a new kid on the block!”
